Deconstruction

Habitat Buffalo Deconstruction Program

Remodeling? Don’t demo — donate! Our Deconstruction team carefully removes your gently-used cabinets, appliances, countertops, and more — with a suggested minimum donation, depending on the size of the project— so they can be resold at our ReStore or reused in a Habitat home.

How it Works

You can schedule a free consultation with our Deconstruction team. We’ll visit your home to evaluate the space and identify materials that are reusable. If approved, we’ll coordinate a removal date that fits your schedule. Our trained crew will handle the safe extraction of cabinets, countertops, appliances, and other salvageable items prior to your renovation or demolition work. Once the job is complete, you’ll receive a donation receipt for tax purposes — all while keeping materials out of landfills and supporting affordable housing in Buffalo.

Why Choose Deconstruction?

Choosing deconstruction offers many benefits — it’s a free, professional removal service that saves you time and hassle. Your donated items qualify for a tax deduction, helping reduce the cost of your renovation. Plus, by diverting reusable materials from the landfill, you’re making an environmentally responsible choice. Best of all, your donations directly support Habitat Buffalo’s mission to build safe, affordable homes for families in need.
