Ways to Give

There are many ways to support Habitat Buffalo’s mission, and your gifts are tax-deductible. Whether through financial donations, in-kind contributions, or volunteering your time, every bit helps us build stronger communities and provide affordable housing.

Donate Items

In-kind donations from residential homes and corporate businesses help Habitat for Humanity Buffalo earn and save thousands each year. In-kind donations are either used directly in the construction of homes (construction materials), or are sold in our ReStores (furniture & household items), with 100% of the proceeds going towards Habitat’s mission.

Donate Funds

Donating funds to Habitat Buffalo’s mission is a direct and impactful way of providing a home for a family in need. No matter the amount, every bit helps us build affordable housing for families suffering from housing insecurity. Help us to give a hand-up, not a hand-out. All donations are tax-deductible.

Gift-In-Kind Donations

Gift-in-kind donations can be made by residents or businesses. Residential In-kind donations typically fall within the following categories: furniture, housewares, appliances, cabinets, doors, windows, plumbing, electronics, and building materials. Most in-kind donations are sold in our ReStore, with 100% of the proceeds funding Habitat’s mission. In-kind donations typically consist of gently used furniture or other household items that are being replaced with newer items. Whenever you get around to buying that new piece of furniture or appliance, donate your old one to us!

In addition to residential donations, corporations and businesses are invited to donate in-kind, as well. Business donations typically consist of overstock product or merchandise. The fun doesn’t stop there, however. In-kind donations of building materials and services are a vital component of our new home construction program, saving us thousands of dollars each year. Appliances, lumber, insulation, and hardwood flooring are a few examples of what companies have donated recently to Habitat’s home-building efforts.

Our business and corporate partnerships help make our work at Habitat Buffalo possible. Your company can partner with Habitat Buffalo by making an in-kind donation today to help us build and renovate homes!

Gift-in-kind donations of all sorts have helped us further our work of bringing opportunity and resources to families in need of a decent place to call home. Contributions, large and small, continue to make a difference, and we believe there is something every company can give to help even more families build better futures. All in-kind donations are met with tax-deductible donation receipts.

Construction

Habitat Buffalo’s ReStores are a destination for homeowners, DIY enthusiasts, contractors, and bargain hunters looking for quality building materials at affordable prices.

We welcome donations of new and gently used construction materials, including windows, doors, cabinets, flooring, paint, lighting, hardware, fixtures, and other home improvement items. Donations from contractors, suppliers, manufacturers, and homeowners help stock our ReStores while supporting Habitat’s mission throughout Western New York.

By donating surplus or unused materials, you help keep valuable resources out of landfills while generating funding that supports affordable housing in our community.

Procurement

Habitat Buffalo partners with local businesses to accept a variety of donated goods, including overstock inventory, customer returns, discontinued merchandise, and materials from facility renovations or remodels.

Our team works closely with businesses to determine how donated items can best support our mission through our ReStores, construction projects, or community programs. Product donations not only benefit local families but can also help businesses reduce disposal costs and support their sustainability goals.

If your organization has products, materials, or inventory to donate, we would be happy to discuss how your contribution can make an impact in our community. All in-kind donations are met with tax-deductible donation receipts.
